Diagnosed with cancer on October 27, his daughter, Michaela, initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support the 61-year-old actor.
Detailing the situation, Michaela explained that a tumor had grown on the bottom of her father’s mouth, encroaching on his teeth. Scheduled for a 10-hour surgery on December 7, the family aimed to raise $100,000 to cover expenses like physical and speech therapy, medical equipment, dental implants, and caregivers. Remarkably, they swiftly achieved their fundraising goal.

Notable personalities such as Steve Carell, Jeff Garlin, Tim Meadows, and “Big Bang Theory” co-creator Bill Prady contributed to the fund. Steve Carell, in particular, donated $10,000, expressing his support with a heartfelt message, “‘Carriage ride!’ Love you Ken.”
Providing a positive update on December 9, Michaela shared on GoFundMe that the cancer was successfully removed, and her father’s jaw bone was reconstructed from his fibula. Despite the expected swelling and incisions, he appeared great.
In a recent interview with People, Michaela conveyed her father’s emotional response to the outpouring of support. She revealed that every time he read messages, he would burst into tears, marking the first time he truly felt emotional about the situation. Michaela emphasized the profound impact of the support on her family, stating that they had been facing financial struggles for a long time. The collective efforts of her dad’s friends coming together were described as overwhelming, significantly alleviating the financial stress on her family.
