Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene once again issues a threat to oust Speaker Mike Johnson for his alignment with Democrats in advancing the foreign aid package.

As tensions within the Republican party continue to escalate, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly denounces Speaker Johnson’s actions, labeling them as a betrayal of the party and its constituents. Following the House’s approval of the new aid to Ukraine, Greene accuses Johnson of disregarding the right-wing principles of the party and serving the interests of Democrats instead.

Addressing the media, Greene emphasizes her stance, asserting that Speaker Johnson’s tenure is now in jeopardy. She calls for his resignation, warning that she and her supporters will initiate a vote to remove him from his position if he fails to step down voluntarily.

In an interview with Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, Greene reaffirms her position, declaring that “Mike Johnson’s speakership is over.” She urges Johnson to take the appropriate action and resign, allowing the party to proceed with a smooth transition. Should he refuse to comply, Greene warns that measures will be taken to vacate his position.

The rift within the Republican party is highlighted by the recent vote on the foreign aid package. Despite months of delay, Speaker Johnson ultimately aligned himself with Democrats to pass the $95 billion bill, which includes a substantial $61 billion allocation for Ukraine and its neighboring countries. The bipartisan vote saw support from 210 Democrats and 101 Republicans, while 112 Republicans opposed the measure, underscoring the divide within the party over key policy issues.
