Game Awards 2023 Nominations REVEALED! See which blockbuster titles dominate the list, with shocking surprises in the Game of the Year category!

The nominations for the Game Awards 2023, celebrating the best games and creators in the gaming industry, have been revealed.

Leading the pack with eight nominations each, including Game of the Year, are two highly anticipated sequels: Remedy Entertainment’s survival-horror title, Alan Wake 2, and Larian Studios’ role-playing game, Baldur’s Gate 3. Joining them in the Game of the Year category are Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (Insomniac Games), Resident Evil 4 (Capcom), Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Nintendo), and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo).

In the newly introduced Best Adaptation category, films and series such as “Castlevania: Nocturne” (Netflix), “Gran Turismo” (Sony Pictures), “The Last of Us” (HBO), “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” (Illumination/Universal Pictures), and “Twisted Metal” (Peacock) are competing for the honors.

Nintendo leads the nominations as the most nominated publisher with 15 nods, followed by Sony Interactive Entertainment/PlayStation with 13, Xbox (including Bethesda and Blizzard) with 10, and Epic Games with nine.

The 2023 Game Awards nominees span 112 different games, individuals, teams, and events across various genres and platforms. A global jury, comprising individuals from over 100 media publications and influencer outlets, selected the nominees.

The 10th annual Game Awards show will be streamed live from the Peacock Theater (formerly Microsoft Theater) in L.A. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, across more than 30 platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, TikTok Live, and X (Twitter). Alongside announcing the winners, the event will showcase premier announcements, trailers, live music performances, and celebrity appearances.

Fans have the opportunity to participate in the selection process by voting online at thegameawards.com until Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. PT. Additionally, for the second consecutive year, fans can vote on the Game Awards nominees through the award show’s official Discord server and engage in a live watch party on Dec. 7, reacting to the winners in real time.

The Game Awards is executive produced by Geoff Keighley and Kimmie Kim, with LeRoy Bennett as the creative director and Richard Preuss as the director.
