As the holiday season approaches, we’re thrilled to announce the upcoming release of a new iteration of the PS5. Our engineering and design teams have collaborated to introduce a redesigned model, catering to the evolving preferences of players by offering increased choice and flexibility. The new form factor maintains the cutting-edge technology that makes the PS5 a premier gaming console, now housed in a more compact design. It includes an attachable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive and a 1TB SSD for expanded internal storage.
The latest PS5 model boasts a 30% reduction in volume and a weight decrease of 18% and 24% compared to its predecessors. It features four separate cover panels, with a glossy finish on the top portion and a matte finish on the bottom. For those opting for the PS5 Digital Edition, the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive can be purchased separately for 79.99 USD | 119.99 EURO | 99.99 GBP | 11,980 JPY.

This new PS5 variant will debut in the U.S. this November at select local retailers and direct.playstation.com, with a global rollout in the subsequent months. Once the current PS5 inventory is depleted, the new model will become the exclusive offering.

Starting early 2024, a variety of PS Console Cover colors for the new model will be offered, including an all-matte Black colorway and the Deep Earth Collection colors in Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver. Prices for the PS Console Covers will begin at 54.99 USD | 54.99 EURO | 44.99 GBP | 7,480 JPY, with additional colors planned for future releases.
