Discussing the tour with Howard Stern, Hagar expressed his excitement about delving deep into the Van Halen catalog, emphasizing the need for Joe Satriani’s skills for such a task. The setlist will not only include Van Halen classics and deep cuts but also feature “five or six of my songs” alongside them.

Hagar, inspired by his work on the recently released Collection II Van Halen box set, felt it was the right time to satisfy the fans’ cravings. He mentioned specific deep cuts like “Seventh Seal” and “Amsterdam” that he’s eager to perform again, some of which haven’t been played since the 2004 tour reunion with Van Halen.

Joe Satriani acknowledged the challenge of learning the iconic Van Halen catalog but expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity. He highlighted the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of Eddie Van Halen’s live performances, describing it as a thrilling and fun experience to delve into the material.

The tour announcement follows the release of remastered editions of all four Hagar-era Van Halen albums in the Collection II box set, featuring additional rare tracks.
