One of the most debated topics when it comes to Cranberry Thanksgiving dinner revolves around the choice between canned and homemade berry sauce for the table. If you’ve ever asked your dinner guests about this, chances are they hold strong opinions on the matter.
In order to determine which option is more prevalent during the holiday season, Ocean Spray conducted a survey that divided participants into two camps: Team Homemade and Team Canned.
Cranberry
More than half of Americans consider berry sauce a must-have for their holiday meal. Among these enthusiasts, a whopping 83 percent assert that it just doesn’t feel like Thanksgiving without berry sauce.
When it comes to loyalty, 21 percent of Team Homemade supporters are willing to commemorate their love for cranberry sauce with a tattoo, surpassing the 15 percent of Team Canned enthusiasts.
Nearly half, or 46 percent, express a level of passion for berry sauce preparation comparable to their dedication to their favorite sports team.For 28 percent of cranberry sauce aficionados, it’s considered a “red flag” if someone doesn’t share their preference for cranberry sauce.
