The 54th Annual Hopkins County Stew Festival, presented by Alliance Bank, is just around the corner, and tickets are available now!

Tickets are only $8 for individuals aged 13 and above. And here’s the fantastic news – thanks to Signature Solar’s generous sponsorship, children aged 12 and younger can enjoy the stew festival for free this year. They still need a ticket, though!

You can conveniently purchase your tickets online at HopkinsChamber.org or visit the Chamber office at 110 Main St. If that doesn’t suit you, you can also purchase tickets at any of our local financial institutions, including Alliance Bank, City National Bank, First National Bank of East Texas, Guaranty Bank and Trust, Pilgrim Bank, Red River Credit Union, and Texas Heritage National Bank.

Additionally, don’t forget to check out the exclusive event T-shirts available at the Chamber office for just $25 in adult sizes S-XXL. We also have a limited supply of hoodies, tumblers, mugs, and stickers, so be sure to grab those as well!

Signature Solar’s sponsorship has made this year’s festival even more affordable for families, with children 12 and under being able to enjoy the festival for free. The festival takes place on Saturday, Oct. 28. Don’t miss out on this exciting event!

Don’t Miss the 16th Annual Help-A-Child Benefit

Join us for the 16th Annual Help-A-Child Benefit on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Hopkins Co

unty Civic Center. This event is a fundraiser for the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center and Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

The day kicks off at 8 a.m. with the Ag Team Competition Build Off and continues with the Livestock Show at 9 a.m., the Ag Mechanic Show and Silent Auctions at 11 a.m. And at 11:30 a.m., enjoy delicious chili and brisket for just $10 (all you can eat).

Cocktails and Conversation: A Casual Networking Event

Plan ahead and mark your calendar for our next Cocktails and Conversation, the newly revamped Business After Hours. This casual networking event and happy hour is open to everyone and will be held on the first Thursday of every month, from 5-6 p.m.

For the month of November, Ana Velasco will be welcoming everyone to her shop, Beauty Grace Lifestyle Shop, located on Connally Street. You don’t need to be a Chamber member to attend, so come join us for an evening of networking and conversation!

Get Ready for the Fall Festival

The Fall Festival is quickly approaching, with the parade taking place on Saturday, Oct. 21, starting at 10 a.m. The parade route is from Buford Park to Brookshire’s.

From Friday, Oct. 27, to Saturday, Oct. 28, we will have trade and vendor booths, a kids’ zone, a creative art contest, and a craft show at the Civic Center. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Main Street Theatre Presents “Bullets on Broadway”

Mark your calendars for Main Street Theatre’s presentation of “Bullets on Broadway,” a thrilling murder mystery. This event by the Community Players will take place at 7 p.m. on the nights of Oct. 20 and 21.

17th Annual Heritage Square Car Show

The 17th Annual Heritage Car Show is set for Saturday, Nov. 4, come rain or shine. Presented by the Sulphur Springs Downtown Business Alliance, this downtown show will have registration from 8 a.m. to noon on the day of the event or pre-registration is available online at sulphurspringsdba.com.

To participate, vehicles must be model year 1993 or older, and cash prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m. For more information, call 903-439-2664 or email jason@tullyins.com.

Free Mammography Clinic for Eligible Women

Don’t miss out on the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation’s Free Mammography Clinic. Appointments are filling up quickly, but a few slots are still available. If you are an uninsured woman over 40 years of age residing in Hopkins County, you are eligible for a free mammogram through this program.

The clinic will be hosted by the staff of the Ruth & Jack Gillis Women’s Center, a part of CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs, on three Saturdays in October: 14, 21, and 28. If you miss this year’s free clinic, you can look forward to it returning in October next year.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, making it an ideal time to schedule an annual mammogram. Remember, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their life. Early detection is crucial, and if you qualify for a free mammogram, call 903-438-4325 to secure your appointment.

Ribbon Cutting Events

Recently, the Hopkins County Veterinary Clinic hosted a ribbon cutting on Friday, Oct. 13, and an open house on Saturday at their fantastic new facility.

And there’s more to come! 101 Barbershop, located at 101 Bill Bradford Road, will be celebrating their one-year anniversary with a ribbon cutting at noon on Friday, Oct. 20. Make plans to join the celebration!
