Following the announcement Ben & Ben of the upcoming adaptation of Star Cinema’s 2007 cult classic, “One More Chance the Musical,” the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) has officially commenced auditions, commencing on November 20, Monday.

The musical, revealed on the closing night of their previous production, “Walang Aray,” is set to showcase the music of the immensely popular and award-winning Filipino nine-piece band, Ben & Ben.

Prospective auditionees have the opportunity to step into the iconic roles of Popoy, Basha, the Thursday Barkada, and other ensemble characters from the beloved cult classic, originally portrayed onscreen by John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.
Audition applicants are required to submit a performance of 16 bars, equivalent to 1 stanza and 1 chorus, from any Ben&Ben or OPM (Original Pilipino Music) song. Additionally, they must present 4 bars of choreography set to contemporary modern music. Detailed audition requirements can be found online via this link. The deadline for all casting submissions is set for November 26 at 11:59 p.m. Live auditions at the PETA Theater Center are scheduled for December 4 to 5.
“One More Chance the Musical” is the latest addition to PETA’s successful lineup of jukebox musicals, following the enduring success of “Rak of Aegis,” which ran for seven seasons, and the critically acclaimed rap musical “Three Stars and a Sun,” featuring the music of the late King of Philippine Rap, Francis Magalona.
The 2007 film “One More Chance,” produced by Star Cinema, narrates the story of Popoy and Basha, a couple who have been together since their college days. The plot revolves around their journey as they navigate the challenges of maintaining a stable relationship, grappling with misunderstandings, pursuing individual ambitions, and working to mend their love despite the obstacles.
