The Stealth Ultra maintains the familiar Xbox controller layout, offering excellent ergonomics with textured grips and a premium finish, although it is lighter than the Elite Series 2. Surprisingly, I find the inputs on the Stealth Ultra preferable to the Elite Series 2, with superior buttons, triggers, and sticks compared to the Elite Series 2 and many other controllers.

Utilizing microswitches, the face, shoulder, and rear buttons, along with the D-pad, provide reduced actuation distance, instant feedback, and a satisfying click, akin to a gaming mouse. The microswitch buttons offer precision and a delightful tactile feel. The controller features four remappable back buttons strategically placed for easy access, and microswitches are again employed for reduced input response time.

To combat stick drift, the Stealth Ultra employs Hall Effect sensors in its analog sticks, using magnets instead of components rubbing against each other for improved longevity. The sticks feel excellent, and Turtle Beach confidently emphasizes their “antidrift” quality.
Unlike some premium controllers, the Stealth Ultra lacks swappable parts, offering limited physical customization with trigger locks and two pairs of rubber caps for the default sticks. However, the controller excels in internal customization, ensuring a meaningful and satisfying experience.
The unique feature of the Stealth Ultra is its built-in customization software, a small display known as the Connected Command Display. Unlike competitors that require proprietary apps for adjustments, the Stealth Ultra allows on-the-fly customization, offering profiles, back button remapping, dead zone creation, vibration intensity adjustment, lighting modification, and more.
The RGB light strips on the handles, along with various lighting effects, add a visually appealing touch. Additional features include Pro-Aim Focus Mode for thumbstick sensitivity adjustments and audio enhancement capabilities when using a wired headset. The Connected Command Display can also show notifications if synced with a phone, providing a unique gaming utility.
